JD Fields & Company, Inc. recently visited the Manhattan Greenway Harlem River project in New York City alongside Tom Sturm and Neil Eibeler, where Trevcon Construction is leading a bold transformation along the water's edge. Set against the backdrop of the Harlem River, a tidal strait that has long influenced the shape and rhythm of the city. This phase of the project involves 4,300 tons of 24-inch by 0.625-inch wall pipe piles and 600 tons of AZ 14 770 sheet piling, reinforcing both the shoreline and New York's vision for accessible and enduring infrastructure. The Harlem River tells a story of reinvention. Once a narrow and marshy divide, it was dramatically reshaped in the late nineteenth century through the construction of the Harlem Ship Canal, a landmark civil engineering project that improved navigation, redefined borough lines, and opened the waterfront for future development. In 2025, that same commitment to thoughtful infrastructure continues to strengthen the city's foundation and its connection to the communities it serves.
